Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) is a good material for food industry belts.  TPU can be used for high-performance applications as it provides essential properties that many other types of similar polymers do not possess.

Their general characteristic includes high wear and abrasion resistance, high resistance to vegetable, animal, and mineral oils and fats, adaptability to temperature changes, and easy-to-clean surfaces. Thus making TPU Conveyor belts ideal for the food industry.

TPU belts offer smooth surfaces to reduce bacterial deposits and ease the belt cleaning process. Although the material is relatively expensive compared to PVC Conveyor belts, it is highly suitable for modern food processes with special requirements for direct food to belt contact.
